Introduction of the SALAM Group’s activities in the field of Medical Equipment
The successful experience in Designing, Developing, and Manufacturing of the Hemodialysis Machine with advanced technologies, in the ATF Co. in early 2013, has paved the way for attaining other Technologies in the Field of Dialysis. The SALAM Group initiated expanding its activities to other Fields of Medical Equipment, relying on the achievements of the ATF Co. The result of this expansion is, founding the FANTAAM Co., in 2018 for Design & Development and Manufacturing of equipment used in Cardiopulmonary Surgery.
The prospects for further development of the SALAM Group Medical Equipment Division, are based on the special regards, given by the executives of this enterprise, to the high level of capabilities and the deep scientific knowledge of the young Iranian generation, in the two major areas, defined below.
– Designing and Manufacturing the medical equipment needed in the country and the regional markets.
– Supporting the Knowledge-Based and Technological Designs in the field of Medical Equipment.
Arya Teb Firouz Knowledge-Based Company (ATF Co.):
ATF Co. established its place in 2015, as the Ninth Hemodialysis Machine Manufacturer in the world, by attaining the Technical Knowledge and Software for manufacturing the Hemodialysis Machine and placed Iran as the Fifth Country in the world in this field.
In September 2015, the ATF Co. received the permit for, manufacturing of the ATF 1022 Hemodialysis Machine from “The National Medical Device Directorate”.
In May and September of 2016, the ATF Co. received the approval for the routine use of the ATF 1022 Hemodialysis Machine, at the request of the “Board of Trustees of Currency Savings in the Treatment of Dialysis Patients”, from the “Tehran University of Medical Sciences Nephrology Research Center” and the “Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences Nephrology and Urology Research Center”, after successful conduct of clinical and Crossover Tests, compared with the B-Braun and Fresenius of Germany’s Hemodialysis Machines, in the “Baqiyatallah hospital” with 36 control patients.
At present, 200 units of the ATF 1022 Hemodialysis Machines, are been used in Public and Private Centers for Hemodialysis of Renal Patients. The total number of Hemodialysis Machines that will be manufactured by early 2020, is expected to reach 1,000 units.
By sending the first export shipment of the ATF 1022 Hemodialysis Machines to Afghanistan, and installing them at the Afghan Aria Hospital Dialysis Center, the ATF Co. has become a peer, to the other International Exporters, of High-Tech Medical Equipment.
The ATF Co., as the sole Manufacturer of Hemodialysis Machines in Iran and in West Asia, has the annual capacity for manufacturing one thousand units of ATF 1022 Hemodialysis Machines; in accordance with the Operating license received from the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade in July 2017.
In 2018, The ATF Co. started manufacturing the Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Purification Equipment for Medical uses in two Portable and Fixed (Central) Models.
In 2018, The ATF Co., at the request of “The Ministry of Health and Medical Education”, received the “The National Nephrology Board’s approval”

Fanavaran Salamat Taam Company (FANTAAM Co.):
In 2016, The FANTAAM Co. was founded in the field of Engineering and Manufacturing of Medical Kits. Since 2017, FANTAAM Co. has focused on Research & Development for Manufacturing variety of the kits needed for Cardiovascular Surgeries and has succeeded in attaining advanced know-how in manufacturing the Diagnostic Kit for Blood Coagulation time (ACT), Sternal Suture, and 0.35ʺ Wire Guide for Angiography, and is currently finalizing the Industrial Process for Manufacturing of these Products.
By conducting research projects and clinical evaluation on products such as ACT Diagnostic Kit, Tourniquet and Inflator Syringe for Angioplasty, FANTAAM Co. has carried out effective activities in Cardiovascular centers such as Rajaee Hospital, and currently is participating in research projects with university professors and expert practitioners of cardiovascular medicine in the country.
FANTAAM Co. intends to take an important step toward self-sufficiency and also enhancing the export capacity of the country, through research and development on consumables and vital products in the field of Cardiovascular Surgery.
The ACT Test, is one of the most used Point of Care (POC) type tests, which in cases such as open-heart surgery with an oxygenator pump, angioplasty, electrophysiology, and some other cardiovascular interventions, in order to monitor the effect of anticoagulant heparin is used; for this purpose, devices and kits are made by the world’s leading brands, such as Medtronic, which accelerates and increases the accuracy of this test.
One of the most critical and key technologies for this test is the diagnostic kit, consisting of a polymer cartridge set, containing an activating reagent within a cuvette. The ACT kit, because of its annual consumption of around 300,000 kits in Iran, and difficulties in procurement from the main manufacturing country, the United States, is of special significance; and localizing it, is a positive contribution to advancement in this area, and paves the way for manufacturing specialized products in this field, and it also brings about the realization of the knowledge-based economy in the field of medical equipment.
Presently, FANTAAM Co. has localized the complete Technology chain (including blood coagulation reagent formulations, manufacturing of polymer components and clinical research in various open heart surgeries) for this product, and is in the process of industrialized production.
